Equipment

At Bill Opticians we are constantly investing in the most up to date equipment so your eye examination will be more accurate than ever before.

We have six different clinic rooms at our disposal, some which you may recognise are used for regular eye examinations and others are for more specialist test such as retinal photography.

Retinal Photography is our latest clinic and allows us to photograph the back of your eye. This provides us with an exact and permanent record of your retinal health and allows us to monitor any future changes with an amazing degree of accuracy.

Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) is our latest clinic and allows us to not only photograph the back of your eye but also give a 3D cross section of the layers behind the retinal surface. This not only provides us with an exact and permanent record of your retinal health but can help us detect and diagnose certain sight threatening conditions earlier than can be achieved with a routine sight test.

As do most opticians we also use a visual field screener allowing us to asses any defects to your field of vision. Our instrument however is the same instrument that is used in the Eye Clinic at Torbay Hospital and recommended by the DVLA. So not only can we asses your visual field our results can be easily interpret by the hospital or DVLA should there be any further requirements from them.

It is all very well having the latest equipment but it needs to be used by practitioners who understand the technology. All our practitioners are highly experienced so when you have your eyes examined by us both the equipment and the opticians using it are of the highest standard.
